October 24th, 2023, Teacher Bo-Ting Wang led the international students of PMP7 to Shangshi Elementary School in Taichung City. Together with the elementary school students, they learned about the nutritional lunches and their components from various countries, practicing the concept of 'Good Health and Well-being' (SDG 3) as part of SDGs.Through collaborative group work and learning, with guidance from teachers Bo-Ting Wang and teacher of Shangshi Elementary School, students not only deepened their understanding of each other's cultures but also developed a healthy eating mindset. This not only fostered international students' identification with Taiwan's local culture but also increased Taiwanese students' awareness of foreign nutritional lunches.Through this activity, students not only gained partners but also found that their Chinese proficiency levels were similar. This encouraged them to use Chinese more. As a result, all students interacted and communications with the elementary school students in Chinese. For instance, an elementary school students ask Japanese students “Do you know Sunny-side-up egg(荷包蛋)?” The Japanese student hear “Sunny-side-up egg” for the first time, didn’t understanding. So, both students found various ways to explain. International students' practical engagement with local elementary schools, implementing what they learned in the 'Exploration of Diet and Health' course, deepened their knowledge of Taiwan's culture, and improved their learning. This hands-on approach enhances learning outcomes, and international students look forward to future exchanges and results.
